The World Bank and IFC report

Experts of the World Bank and International Finance Corporation presented their report "Doing Business 2007: How to conduct reforms". It shows the common rating of 175 states (which is 20 states more than in the last year) according to the simplicity of the conditions to do business. Belarus occupies the 129th position in the world rating in simplicity of doing business.

Georgia has made its indicators better in 6 of 10 fields that are evaluated in Doing Business report. Armenia which was successful to implement 4 reforms was called a serious reformer. In general, in 9 CIS states time and cost have been reduced and different obstacles in implementation the normative and administrative requirements have been removed. 
The world top ten of the countries in the field of reform is the following: Georgia, Romania, Mexico, China, Peru, France, Croatia, Guatemala, Ghana and Tanzania. The reforms were related to simplification of implementation of entrepreneurial activity, property rights protection, facilitation of the tax burden, widening access to credits and reduce of the cost of legalization of import/export operations. Among CIS states Armenia, Azerbaydzhan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine implemented at least one reform. There were no reforms in Tatzhikistan, Uzbekistan has made the conditions to do business worse.

Doing Business 2007 report shows the common rating of 175 states (which is 20 states more than in the last year) according to simplicity of the conditions to do business. Georgia has made an impressive jump this year - 75 positions in the rating and occupies the 37th position in the common rating. Kazakhstan has made its position to 20 positions and occupies the 62nd position in the rating.  Armenia has become the leader of the region – 34th position in the common rating.

Tatzhikistan (the 133rd position) and Uzbekistan (the 147th position) have the worst indicators. Russia occupies the middle of the list (the 96th position), being 3 positions lower than China but above than Brazil and India. Ukraine and Belarus occupy the 128th and 129th positions respectively in the world rating of simplicity of the conditions to do business.
